EUPHORIA EXHIBITION
 
Introducing 'The Quarry' which features Australian Red-Tailed Cockatoos in banksia menziesii. 
 
This is a different piece and one I would class as mixed-media. I enjoy experimenting and here I have used and painted ply wood (shaped as banksia). These have been cut using a laser, I have glued them using a two-proxy glue and have positioned them to stick outside of the canvas edge.
 
You can still have this framed in a floating frame style if you wish. As long as the frame does not extend the front of the canvas.
 
Red-tailed Cockatoos are the feature of this painting, a bird my art practice is known for and one I return to often. The Quarry evolved naturally as I was painting with the beautiful bright colours. The strong shapes reminded me of a quarry (but much prettier).
 
A beautiful painting full of variations of pinks, whites, purple, greens with a pop of yellow. 
 
An original acrylic, oil and oil stick painting on a deep edged canvas measuring approx. 61x61cm (74cm at total width including the banksia leaves outside the edge). This one is varnished, mounted with wire and ready to go.
