This piece features Australian King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas (my favourites at the moment) in a healthy lemon tree. I have also been painting a few fruit/vegetable plants and trees lately and this is part of that series.
 
My birds are wearing hats, hats with the flaps. A memory and bit of nastoglia I had thinking about growing up in primary school wearing the hats with the flaps. I need one of these hats right now as I mow the lawns in the strong Queensland sun.
