Casaurina equisetfolia or “casaurina” is an absolute favourite of mine.
I have not painted one of these trees in a while and it must have popped up somewhere during my travels.
I used to live in Fremantle and opposite was a Casaurina tree and it always had Galahs chirping away. This piece is a nod to that time.
Such a romantic tree, I love how it weeps downwards and whispers in the wind.
